True Test... Longevity

It is the key component, to any real career, in any industry.. I could rant for ever, but instead I will post a handful of photos of some of my favorite people, that I have respect for. They all taught me that it is all about longevity, integrity, and perseverance. I thank you all for giving me the knowledge and drive to keep moving forward..

Quality.. What is that.. A lost Art.. I really hope not.

Is quality something that is an art? Lately I see it as a hoax, a farce, a facade even. People wait on line for anything that is limited for days.. WTF.. Then help create a 900% mark up on goods (sneakers, tshirts, hoodies, toys, videogames, you fucking name it). I am a capitalist through and through.. but there is a limit. It brings me back to quality.. If the quality was worth the 900% mark up, well fuck it yeah make is so. Then I see a company that is actually putting quality out, and since they are not a brand name or couture, they do not sell, then they end up having to discount, and eventually if it does not fly go outta business. So my issue is what happened to NYC individualism, and hunting for what is hot, not because we said so, or just because it is good ass quality and fresh as style.. So the fuck what if it does not have the latest name brand attached it it.. It all breaks down to outsourcing and profit margins, big business and homogonizing culture. that will be for tomorrow.. I end my rant

Sweat Equity

Ah yes.. A term that some will live for.. Maybe for too long. It is what keeps us (the people that understand that) going.. A lot of work, little to no funding, a desire to have a small piece to call your own, and to possibly make that tiny piece.. Well to put it bluntly, damn big. Then you get to this point where years of work and money stress get you to the point of not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel anymore, and seeing things get hazy (not that haze), but there is something else that keeps the grustle going... I have not decided if it is money or power(the ability to do anything you want(project based)).. Then you can see how they are very one and the same, and that most indies are striving to do what they do without stress. That means to have a great deal of money, but not be on MTV Cribs, and if they were come out to my crib in Queens.. Check out the humble digs.. I have little point to make today, just kinda in my stress, and need to rant about my position.. Thinking I bet there is no other one I would want.. Work for your piece and your retirement.. fuck a 401k.. we got SWEAT EQUITY.

Damn Technology...

Could I have been smashed in the face any harder by technology this week.. I mean really. Phone (fucking VOIP), VPN (Virtual Private Network), Cell (never works in my office), the list could go on, but those were the trump cards that life threw me. It totally halted business for a day for me, and made it half assed for two other days, which if you don't know me, makes me a lunatic. It really opened my eyes to something I had totally thought I knew about, but really had no idea. How much technology runs my life, and many of the people around me.. Without it (in my life todate): I would not walk correctly (had reconstructive ankle surgery), I would not run a magazine (three people two coast, since our inception), those two are really the main things. For me it is plenty to stop and say.. Get the fuck outta here how much I am techo reliant. I would venure to say that if technology had a collapse and we as a society had to go back to ways of the past, we would be like cavemen. The reason you ask.. Well, the generation of people that lived in that manor, are dying off. I do not mean that in a malicious way, it is the truth. My Grandmother is that generation, she is 99, I love her, but comeon.. 99 not too many left.. I truly believe our elders hold the key to survival if what we know as the truth becomes a facade like some Hollywood shit.. I really had no point to this, so anyone reading this that is pissed that I did not crescendo, I apologize, I had to straight rant after the royal kick in the nuts by technology this week.. I bid you peace.

Excess, Junk, Refuse.. etc..

Just really need to know about: Faux Rolexs aka Fauxlexs, Viagra, Cialias, better APR, i won the Lottery in every other country than America, Oil Tycoon settlement, Credit Cards, Bank Scams.. this could really go on most of the day, and feel free to ad what you get.. This shit is fucking ridiculous. There are laws and programs to stop this, but come on it does not work.. I have a few issues with this (of course I do), we have the most uptodate, advanced technology ever at this moment in time, why can we not stop fuckin EMAIL SPAM.. The reason, to much damn money invested, the people that have the techology to stop this, must be paid off. They have to be. If I was on either end, be it the techo guy, or the biz/marketing person behind the SPAM, I would not care, as long as my check was cut on time.. Yeah that is shallow, well eat it I like to eat, but since it does not pay me FUCK THAT SHIT.. My dick works, I have a watch, my credit is fine, the lotto is a hoax(everywhere), I know zero people in Africa that have a settlement for me , soo I say they need to stop this.. I digress.. fuck spam..

Fuel to the Fire all the way to Greener.

Somedays I wake up and wonder what it is that fuels that fire. It is at that minute I wonder what it would be like to be a : Banker, politician, mathematician, gardener, riverboat captain, fisherman, rapper, elephant shit shoveler at the circus, hot dog vendor, miner, jewel thief, factory worker, president of the USA, dictator of a 3rd world country, bouncer, drunk, addict, headhunter (both kinds), you get the point.. But I know one thing... the grass is always greener.. I have been on the same path forever it feels like, and the grass is always greener.. People always want to be in my shoes, while secretly I want to be in theirs, that is why I keep waking up early, because after all this work, how could I actually want to indulge in the dream of greener pastures, while I am probably lying in a bed of flowers with well trimmed grass, and trees all surrounding me.. I still wonder.. time is on our side.. believe

Ok. So in the last few days I decided to find myself an Intern.. ok ok.. aka slave labor.. I really have no remorse first off for anyone that needs money to be down.. I eat more shit for mad years, than I care to talk about.. I have to tell you when I was in the process of trying to be involved aka 'down", I approached this with as much Professionalism as I knew about. The level of professionalism has gone out the window. After reaching out to the digiverse for some strong interns.. I got more emails saying.. I am down.. check me out.. myspace/generic_human.. WTF.. SINCE WHEN IS A MYSPACE PAGE A RESUME.. It is not people. I see too many people want to be down, not willing to work for free and then not taking anything as seriously as a person that wants to get involved should be. Yes we are mostly self driven, and independent, that does not mean we are not serious and professional, and take everything we do with the utmost respect.. by responding like that, I feel disrespect to the years of shit eating. I repect anyone reaching out. just think about the long term if you are serious, no one is gonna extend any position free or not to a person that is not together.. I will tell you all, for every 15 people that are sloppy there is 1 persone that has it down.. that person will get a call or an email back, everyone else will wonder why they have not.. think about it.. be that 1, not the 15.. We care less..
