Getting Focus at Night

For some reason lately, I have been really captured by the images I have been producing at night.. Not sure why, but I think that is the point, in general, to be struck by imagry.. the reason i originally picked up a camera. enough jabber... stuff to look at..

"The greatest mystery is not that we have been flung at random between the profusion of matter and of the stars, but that within this prison we can draw from ourselves images powerful enough to deny our nothingness."

MORE flix... part 3

Xtra Flix from my Trip. part 2

Via 3 Weaks on the Road..

So I have pretty much explained in my previous post why I love NY so much.. Also how tired of the west I am. But to all sides there is another.. Following this rant are some photos from my journey.. Background: every 6 months I am in Vegas, for the MAGIC and Pool tradeshows, which are becoming a bit redundant, maybe I am outgrowing caring too much about a tshirt, nonetheless we are in Vegas. For photos people would think vegas is amazing, crazy buildings lite up.. But that is easy.. I try to find the nuances of repetitiveness in vegas.. and people, they are interesting as well. After staying at the Sahara hotel, for the past few years, we decided to switch it up.. We went to the Stratosphere, which was interesting.. it is worth the stay to go up to the top of the tower.. Vegas is amazing from that view, and in the same breath absolutely ridiculous. There is a full city, in the middle of the desert, that is miles away from anything, which has no culture, except for gambling.. On top of it, the aesthetic, is taking slices of all the other greatest global cities, places, and time periods, and making them attractions. As a New Yorker, it is fucking mind boggling, and I get over it, the minute I enter it.

Back to LA.. we headed to a handful of parties... Jayceeoh was in town.. and spun at a myriad of good events, The DO OVER, which is just a great vibe... cheers to the multitude of pitchers of Sangria.. all i have to say is damn.. Kicked it with Marc from Fenchurch, there is something nice about linking with a person that is from another city that has the same feelings on LA, ah.. this kinda is weak.. shall we sit here and get bent and talk some smack quietly together.. deal.. The interesting thing about LA is a party like the DOOVER, which has a great vibe, with much support from Stones Throw.. I feel something like that would never be that successful in NYC.. tipping my hat.

Look I have had a way too traditional blog entry to not hate on myself.. WHY MUST I FUCKING WRITE ABOUT MY LIFE.. on a Blog.. and WHY DOES EVERYONE ELSE.. I do not need to see every place you went... we really do not care.. There I said it.. My life is just as interesting.. so feel free if i have offended you to let me know, you careless about my fucking mundane life....

here are some flicks.. from the road..

Califuckna.. I Really do Love u, NY..

The rumble of the subway overhead in my neighborhood, the sound of trucks barreling down Queens Blvd clearly over the speed limit, the sound of a overly stereotypical NYer sayin "EY YO" to a friend passing by... all these things mean the world to me.. How good it feels to be back in my element.. The last 3 weeks away in the West Coast was tryin on my psyche. It is slower, nicer (aka faker), incredibly full of it self.. not to mentioned incredibly laid back to the point, where I wondered how the fuck anything gets accomplished. Given I have been out there plenty of times, but for some reason, this was the most exhausting trip to date. I know I have not come to any kind of point of this rant, but sometimes, you need to get general frustration off your chest. I leave you all with some flicks of Queens prior to my descent, I will have some photos from my trip up soon, it was an interesting one. I tip my hat to the Mad Greek Cafe in Baker California, which I have been to so many times, it has become a facet in our journey between LA and Vegas, they do have the best Strawberry shakes.. I will be back soon with some new... I mean that Matt... I leave you with a quote that I find fitting for cali, something I personally do not subscribe to, but fitting nonetheless..
